How do I set up to get paid to Skrill?

The Basics

How you set Skrill up as a payment method in Upwork depends on whether or not you already have a Skrill account. If you have a Skrill account, setting it up as a payment method will be quicker. If you don’t have a Skrill account, you can link directly to their site from ours when you set it up. For security purposes, your Skrill payment method will become active after a four-day waiting period.
In order to get paid, your tax information must be on file. Click here to complete it. Once that is complete, available funds will be disbursed according to your payment schedule and you may initiate manual withdrawals as needed.

Please note these very important details:

• It is vital that you provide your real and confirmable name, address, birth date, and any other information requested on the Skrill registration form. Skrill audits your personal information after you start using your account and they will lock you out if they find a discrepancy.
• Confirm your Skill account and complete any necessary verification process with them before sending them your earnings. You are responsible for making sure that Skrill provides the services you need before you send your money to them. When you get paid, Upwork transfers the money to Skrill and we cannot retrieve it. Only send your earnings from Upwork to Skrill once you know you can access your money after the transfer. 
• In most cases, your payment transfers immediately. However, there are rare occasions when it may take up to 24 hours. If it has been more than 24 hours, contact Support Services. 
• We recommend setting your primary currency to US dollars on Skrill to reduce currency conversion fees. This must be set during account registration and cannot be changed later.
• Once you get paid using Skrill, Upwork does not have control over the funds and cannot reverse the transaction. It is your responsibility to ensure your vendor account is properly set to handle the transactions.

The Details

To add Skrill as your payment method:

1. Click the Settings icon and click Get Paid under User Settings.
2. Click Add a payment method. 
3. Click the Set Up button for Skrill. 
4. If you already have a Skrill account set up, skip to step 5. If you don't have a Skrill account:
1. Click the Visit Skrill link and register for a Skrill account with the email address you use on Upwork. 
2. Confirm with Skrill that your country is supported and that their features and fees are acceptable. Complete account verification with Skrill and ensure you have a way to access the funds sent to the account.
3. Please verify that your Skrill account and your Upwork account use the same email address. If they match, you can activate Skrill as your payment method on Upwork. If they don’t match: 
• Add the email address you use on Upwork to your existing Skrill account. Make sure you complete the email address verification, or 
• Click the Settings icon on any Upwork page to change your email address to match the one on your Skrill account. 
4. Return to Upwork to complete set up.
5. Choose a payment schedule and click Next. For security reasons, your new payment method will become active in three days.

To edit your Skrill account:

• You must make changes directly through Skrill—including adding or changing email addresses or closing the account.

To remove your Skrill payment method:

1. Click the Settings icon and click Get Paid under User Settings. 
2. Under Payment Methods, find the one you want to remove and click its edit link. 
3. Click Remove.
